About the Role
As a Customer Operations Specialist in our Credit Support Unit, you’ll play an important role supporting customers who may be experiencing financial difficulty. This is a telephony‑based role, where you’ll have meaningful conversations with customers and help identify the most appropriate solutions for their individual circumstances.
This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is motivated, customer‑focused, and eager to develop a strong foundation in financial services. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of banking products and services across AIB, EBS and Haven Mortgages, opening the door to future career opportunities within the Bank.
You’ll join a dynamic, fast‑paced and supportive team, with full training, coaching and development provided.
We operate on a shift basis as follows:
- Week 1: Monday to Friday – 9.00 to 4.30pm
- Week 2: Monday to Friday – 9.00 to 4.30pm
- Week 3: Monday to Thursday 11.30am until 8.00pm, Friday 10.00am - 6.00pm & Saturday 9.00am – 1.00pm
- Week 4: Monday to Thursday 09.00am until 5.30pm & Friday 10.00am – 6.00pm
Key Accountabilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for customers who are in, or approaching, financial difficulty
- Speak with customers by phone to understand their situation and identify suitable solutions
- Update and maintain accurate customer records in line with CCMA and CPC regulations
- Respond clearly and professionally to customer queries about their accounts
- Deliver a high standard of customer service, always acting with empathy, integrity and professionalism

- Experience in a customer‑facing role (banking experience not required)
- A genuine interest in helping customers and finding the right solutions
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with customers by phone
- A positive attitude, resilience, and willingness to learn
- Motivation to develop a career in financial services
Training, Qualifications & Support
All successful candidates will be supported to achieve a minimum APA in Loans through the Qualified Financial Advisor framework.
AIB will:
- Cover the cost of registration with the Institute of Bankers
- Pay for required modules
- Provide paid study leave
