Location/Office Policy: Leopardstown, Dublin 18 - 3 days in office
The Data Quality Lead is responsible for advancing AIB’s established data quality and control environment across the organisation.
The role focuses on enhancing how data quality is measured, reported and governed — ensuring data remains reliable and fit for use in decision-making, regulatory reporting and risk management.
Sitting within the Data & Analytics Office, the role operates across technology, data and business teams. You will support the continued embedding of practical, enterprise-wide data quality and data management standards, partnering with stakeholders to strengthen how data is created, moved and used within critical processes.
This is a high-impact role with strong enterprise exposure, offering the opportunity to work with key stakeholders across AIB. You will help address complex data challenges and drive continuous improvement in how data is designed, managed and used at scale.
What is the Role:
- Lead and build a high-performing team -Set direction, raise standards and develop capability across data quality, management and lineage.
- Data quality and control environment – Define and embed DQ rules, thresholds and monitoring, and improve how data is captured, transformed and managed to ensure reliability and end-to-end control effectiveness
- Drive ownership and accountability -Work with Data Owners and System Owners to ensure clear, active ownership across critical data.
- Strengthen enterprise data capabilities -Advance data lineage, metadata and master data practices to improve consistency, traceability and reuse.
- Deliver insight and embed scalable ways of working -Provide reporting that drives action while embedding repeatable, sustainable approaches across the organisation.
- Embed practical data standards and controls - Establish clear standards and ensure consistent application across processes. Represent the organisation in internal and external engagements on data quality and data management.
What you Will Bring:
- Strong analytical thinking and sound judgement, with a curiosity to understand how data flows and where issues arise
- Experience working with data in a business or technical context, with an appreciation for how it supports decision-making and operations
- Ability to simplify complex topics and communicate clearly with stakeholders across business and technology
- A proactive, ownership mindset, with the confidence to challenge, ask questions and drive improvements
- An interest in data quality, governance and control, with familiarity in core data concepts (e.g. definitions, quality, lineage) and a willingness to deepen expertise
- Proven experience in people leadership
