What is the Role:

 

 

Reporting to the Group Head of Enterprise Architecture & Design, Group Change, the Senior Lean Manager will be accountable for leading the Lean team and Lean Centre of Excellence for AIB.

 

Group Change is the centre of excellence that leads the Bank’s change and transformation agenda, ensuring successful execution of changes and transformation programmes and playing a leading role in the execution of the Bank’s overall strategic objectives. Within Group Change, the Enterprise Architecture & Design team is responsible for translating strategic plans into implementable initiatives and ensuring that all change is designed correctly at both an individual program level and enterprise-wide level in line with the Bank’s strategy.  

 

The Senior Lean Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering Lean strategies, collaborating with stakeholders to define an enterprise-wide process architecture, implement process improvements and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organisation.

 

 

The Lean Senior Manager, will be responsible for:

 

  1. Providing Lean expertise as an SME across all change initiatives and also at an enterprise-wide level as part of the Enterprise Architecture blueprints.

 

  1. Leading and developing a team of Lean practitioners, prioritising purpose driven leadership, development, recognition and team performance.

 

  1. Applying forensic focus on value creation and realisation, using OKR (Objectives & Key Results) methodologies to engage with senior business stakeholders to define lean transformation objectives and subsequently drive the transformation to realise benefits across customer satisfaction, employee engagement, reduction in lead times, cost reduction and more

 

  1. Leading deep process analysis, process observation and capacity analysis through value stream mapping to improve enterprise wide process performance. Identifying the best tooling and technologies that can be adopted to support enterprise process management and being the ambassador to embed the technology in the business.

 

  1. The role is fast paced and requires the candidate to effectively prioritise and pivot between tasks depending on the demands of the day, including requests from Group Change, Sponsors, ELT or the Regulator. The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, involving frequent presentations to senior internal stakeholders and representing the Bank with third parties.

 

 

Key accountabilities:

 

  • Decision Making: Educates Lean Innovation Team and supports Lean Innovation Delivery Leads to master Lean Innovation delivery and deliver value to organisation. Supporting the establishment and development of Lean Innovation Community of Practice providing leadership, best practices, research, support, and training for the Delivery team and wider Group​

 

  • Problem Solving: Works with the Delivery team and wider group to drives value and solve complex problems and understanding impediments to be resolved to delivery on Lean Innovation value creation, mindset and capability.​

 

 

  • Collaboration: Actively engage at the ExCo and ExCo -1 level establishing a trusted advisor relationship to support Business Areas deliver on its incremental improvement activities and embed Lean Innovation discipline for long term sustainability. Provides direction, constructive feedback, coaching and mentoring to team members​

 

  • Level of Influence: Coach Lean Innovation at all levels of the organisation across different functions – with a focus on enterprise Lean Innovation outcomes and discipline for long term sustainability. Inspire and guide Senior Leadership in key principles to sustain long-lived Lean Innovation within Business Areas and on embedding continuous improvement towards desired outcomes.​

 

 

  • Leadership: Technical expert and thought leader in domain of expertise and leads others to deliver objectives​

 

  • Culture and Conduct: Champions a culture in support of our Purpose, strategic ambition and Brand Values, by ensuring processes and procedures consistently promote good outcomes for all our customers.

 

 

 

What you will bring to the role:

 

  1. Minimum 10 years’ Lean experience with Black Belt qualification coupled with an in depth knowledge of business operations, strategy and transformation.

 

  1. Lean thought leadership expertise, with a vision for Enterprise process architecture and AI enabled process mining

 

  1. Excellent track record in Lean delivery and value creation, with exceptional focus on Customer First values, improved quality, cost reduction and releasing capacity.

 

  1. Proven leadership experience, a strong track record in enterprise level stakeholder and relationship management, including the ability to deliver results in a matrix environment.

 

  1. Exceptional people leadership skills and team development experience, demonstrating proven ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, while effectively managing and developing team members to achieve organisational goals.

 

  1. Excellent communication and presentation skills to internal and external stakeholders. Prepares and presents analysis, insights, and recommendations to assist agreed governance forums and senior executives with decision making.
