Role: Payments Fraud Lead, Dublin
Location/Office Policy: Central Park, Dublin 18 - 3 days per week in office

What is the Role:
We are looking for a highly analytical and technically capable Payments Fraud Lead to support and enhance payment fraud decisioning within AIB. This role will focus on fraud prevention, detection, and control optimisation across payment fraud use cases, including transaction monitoring, analytics-driven interventions, and model/rule enhancement.
Key accountabilities:
- Gather, analyse, and document business, fraud-risk, regulatory, and operational requirements for payment fraud detection and prevention initiatives.
- Apply fraud domain knowledge to review and enhance existing payment anomaly detection, fraud rules, and machine learning models.
- Work on payment fraud use cases such as transaction monitoring, fraud prevention strategies, and investigation workflows to analyse trends and root causes using data insights.
- Support the design of controls, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms for payment fraud operations and decisioning.
- Collaborate with fraud operations, compliance, risk, technology, engineering, product, and data teams to implement and improve fraud detection solutions.
- Contribute to threshold optimisation, intervention design, and continuous improvement of payment fraud controls.
What you Will Bring:
- 5–8 years’ experience in fraud, financial crime, risk analytics, decisioning, or business analysis within banking or financial services.
- Strong understanding of payment fraud typologies, transaction monitoring, account takeover, mule activity, and fraud decisioning initiatives.
- Experience working with fraud detection, analytics, or decisioning platforms such as Featurespace or similar systems.
- Strong data analysis capability with hands-on experience using SQL and large datasets.
- Ability to define structured, data-driven solutions and to work effectively in fast-paced delivery environments with multiple dependencies.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across fraud, operations, and related functions.
