Senior Chartered Valuation Surveyor, Dublin

What is the Role:

Retail Governance is a dedicated business within Retail Banking for management of risk and governance in Retail. The Centre of Specialisation is an independent function within Retail responsible for the End- to –End management of the valuation activity.

The successful candidate will be a Senior Chartered Valuation Surveyor within the team and be involved in a range of valuation oversight activities, with particular emphasis on completing consistent (Internal) valuations in Retail Banking, in line with the AIB Professional Valuation Guidance/ Policy. 

Key accountabilities:

• Applying an experienced professional lens and expert judgement, in support of overall Retail Banking valuation activity, with particular focus on compliance with Group Property Valuation Policy and Group Property Valuation Guidance.
• Give priority to ongoing Quality Assurance and Training within the Valuations team.  Work closely with the team to establish standardised approaches to completing internal valuations across varying asset classes, to reduce re-works and increase overall quality in line with Policy.
• Undertake and complete an agreed Quality approval approach to ensure External Valuations are critical reviewed to meet the Group Property Valuation Guidance.
• Undertake and complete agreed Internal Monitoring Tests to ensure valuations are monitored in line with the Group Property Valuation Guidance.
• Developing and enhancing robust valuation process and guidance to reflect best practice and regulatory compliance.
• Provide support and guidance to Retail Banking colleagues on the appropriate execution of valuation activity.
• Supporting the Retail Governance valuation team members by sharing experience and expertise, and mentoring colleagues where appropriate.

What you Will Bring:

• Qualified Valuations Chartered Surveyor.
• Strong level of technical/ industry/system knowledge of the Valuations process in AIB Group.
• Experience in continuous change, with a focus on process improvement.
• Strong planning and prioritisation skills particularly when under pressure to meet team objectives.
• Track record in developing people to meet both their career goals and the Organisation goals.
• A proven ability to work in a diverse team, achieving positive engagement and outcomes for stakeholders.
• Experience in building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers
