What is the Role:
Reporting to Core Banking’s Head of Mainframe Engineering, the successful candidate will be expected to become a technical SME for one of our Accounting Platforms. Working alongside offshore and onshore colleagues, they will be involved in the large programs that will transform Core Banking in AIB. They will help deliver the new products and services that will realise AIB's best in class digital ambition.
Key accountabilities;
- Hands on engineering of high quality mainframe code.
- Review and analysis of existing software applications (mainframe)
- Facilitate code reviews.
- Sizing and Estimation of engineering task assigned to squad.
- Compilation & Presentation of Low Level Design Documents.
- Join the Tribe On call team and provide overnight support to End of Day Batch.
What you Will Bring ;
- At least 5 years experience in mainframe software development.
- Strong hands-on experience as an Mainframe Developer using some/all : PL1, CICS /Cobol, DB2, JCL
- Experienced of both Batch and Online application development.
- Broad exposure to some of the following tools : Changeman, Endeavour, Git, Remedy, JIRA, TSO , FileAid.
- Experience compiling Low Level technical design documents.
- Experience working in an Agile Development environment
