Who we are:
The Independent Validation Unit is a vibrant and diverse team that is responsible for the design and execution of Risk Data Validation and control environment assessments. The results of these assessments will inform senior management and the Board on the adequacy and effectiveness of our data management, regulatory adherence and the related internal control environment.
The IVU is a team of experts in different specialist areas, including Data Management, Information and Digital Technology, Resilience, Data Protection, Regulatory Compliance and more. Key Accountabilities/responsibilities:
- Be a proactive member of the team ensuring the effective planning and delivery of detailed BCBS-239 testing and validation activities, to assess and report on the Bank’s compliance with BCBS‑239 requirements;
- Contribute to the design and delivery of informative visualisations, dashboards and reports presenting the results of our testing, monitoring and the assurance coverage of the BCBS-239 Principles.
- Engage professionally and efficiently with business areas and key stakeholders;
- Design and deliver comprehensive assessments of the Bank’s control environment, governance oversight and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Deliver comprehensive data validation and controls testing, including data analytics, visualisation techniques to allow for the identification of issues requiring remediation;
- Assist the preparation and agreement of the detailed final review reports for senior management;
- Support the wider team, providing your knowledge, technical expertise and insights; and
- Proactively contribute to the development of innovative testing solutions, including data driven continuous monitoring of compliance with BCBS-239 principles.
What you Will Bring:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Data Analytics, Data Management, Risk Management, or Technology, ideally with Compliance or Audit experience in a Banking environment.
- Professional qualification in the areas of auditing/assurance qualifications (e.g. ISACA’s CISA, CRISC, or Institute of Internal Auditors) or Data Management/Regulatory Compliance is preferred.
- Strong Data Analysis, programming, reporting and visualisation skills with knowledge and experience with languages/tools such as SQL, PowerBI, Teradata, Ab Initio, Qlikview,
- Have a proven experience of Compliance, Risk Management or Audit in a Banking environment and associated risks.
- Have a clear understanding and knowledge of control and risk management methodologies.
- Understanding and working experience with data governance, database management, data warehousing, data management frameworks & industry standards and BCBS‑239 Principles.
- Self-starter with a lot of initiative, a strong team player with excellent attention to detail, communication and presentation skills and work to deadlines, remaining calm under pressure.
