What is the Role:

 

Within Treasury, the Funding & Liquidity function, classified as a mission critical activity in AIB, manages the Bank’s short term liquidity and long term secured/un-secured debt and capital issuance activities of the Group and its subsidiaries. This ensures the Funding & Liquidity obligations of AIB and its customers are met for both ROI and UK by providing sufficient funds across all currency accounts to meet customer and regulatory obligations. The Liquidity Advisory function sits within the F&L team and is a key planning and control function of the Bank.

Within the Funding & Liquidity function a vacancy now exists as a Strategic Liquidity Advisory Manager – Level 4. The Liquidity Advisory team play a central role in the formation of the Bank’s 3 Year Funding & Liquidity Plan and the preparation and delivery of the annual ILAAP. This is a key planning control and support function for AIB delivering annual planning, liquidity documents, liquidity analysis, advice and information for ALCo, ELT and Board. The role involves applying clear standards of professionalism in all activities with excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills expected.

 

Key accountabilities:

 

  • Strategic advisory relating to liquidity and funding in the Bank’s current and future balance sheet. Ensure the Bank is fully aware of current and future regulatory liquidity requirements and any other reporting requirements relating to funding and liquidity and ensure liquidity considerations are appropriately embedded in the business planning and assessment of new initiatives. Key stakeholder in the Liquidity Regulation Advisory Forum.
  • Production and delivery of the Internal Liquidity Advisory Assessment Process (ILAAP) that assesses AIB’s liquidity risks and the adequacy of the Bank’s resources to meet possible stressed events including the preparation of key ALCo and Board documents such as the Funding & Liquidity Plan, Contingency Funding Plan, Liquidity Adequacy Statement, Stressed Liquidity Scenarios. Engagement with Financial Risk for relevant policy development relating to Funding and Liquidity.
  • Produce key documents for submission to the Single Resolution Board (SRB) on an annual basis – e.g. Liquidity in Resolution Methodology, Secured Funding in Resolution documents. Present at Resolution Steering.
  • Coaches and develops capability in relation to Liquidity performance management concepts and topical issues

 

What you Will Bring: 

 

  • Banking experience (5 years +) with a strong understanding of liquidity / balance sheet principles.
  • The ability to analyse and interpret liquidity regulation is an advantage.
  • Results driven individual with proven track record in working under pressure.
  • Ability to work collaboratively towards shared objectives with a track record of driving deliverables to completion.
  • Strong core business skills including communication and influencing, stakeholder management and presentation skills.
  • Strong excel knowledge.
