Relationship Director Asset Finance – UK Corporate
Location: London or Manchester
This is a key role in assisting AIB to grow in the UK Corporate Market. You will be working with senior internal stakeholders to grow the asset finance proposition, with a particular focus on the automotive sector. Experience in the UK Corporate Asset Finance market is critical, with strong exposure to the automotive industry. Knowledge of Receivables Financing, Unit Stocking and the UK car market are essential.
What is the Role:
- The role of Relationship Director Asset Finance supports the Bank’s strategic direction through the development of new business income streams by deploying Asset Finance and ABL products across the banks chosen sectors, with a strong emphasis on automotive clients and dealer networks.
- The role holder will create and maintain strong customer relationships across the automotive ecosystem, including dealers, distributors, and related stakeholders, as well as working with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver solutions that work for all parties.
- The successful applicant will need to have strong credit skills with the ability to interpret and understand key financial indicators, particularly within automotive businesses and vehicle financing structures.
- Strategic sales planning and a deep understanding of the automotive industry and the competitor landscape are essential to being successful in this role.
Key accountabilities;
- The Primary Focus for this role will be to originate new to bank business within the automotive sector, as well as the management of internal new business generation by working closely with colleagues in AIB UK Corporate.
- The Role Holder should have strong market expertise in the UK Corporate Asset Finance Market, with a clear specialism in automotive finance.
- They will have experience in the implementation of sales and marketing strategies to achieve agreed sales targets, particularly within dealer, manufacturer, and fleet channels.
- They will also have proven experience in the origination, operation and structuring of receivables financing structures, and unit stocking facilities, ideally within the automotive or vehicle finance space.
What you Will Bring:
- A sound understanding of the UK Corporate Asset Finance market including a well-developed knowledge of all financial, regulatory and technical aspects, with a strong focus on automotive finance.
- Proven new business origination capability either individually or as part of a winning team, with a track record in the automotive sector.
- The ability to build and maintain relationships within a complex framework of stakeholders, particularly across automotive clients, dealers, and OEM networks.
- Banking or Asset Finance Qualifications are desirable but not essential.

- Business Development: Creates competitive and breakthrough sales strategies and plans, anticipating future consequences and trends accurately, particularly within the automotive and vehicle finance space.
