About the Role – Director of Wealth Management – Cork
Goodbody is seeking an experienced and commercially successful Director of Wealth Management to lead the continued growth and development of our Wealth Management franchise across Cork and the wider Munster region.
This is a rare opportunity to join one of Ireland's leading wealth management firms in a senior regional leadership capacity, combining responsibility for a portfolio of significant client relationships with leadership of a team of Senior Wealth Advisors and Wealth Management professionals. The successful candidate will be accountable for driving sustainable business growth, delivering exceptional client outcomes and strengthening Goodbody's position as the leading wealth management partner for High-Net-Worth (HNW) and Ultra-High-Net-Worth (UHNW) clients across the region.
As the senior wealth management leader in Munster, the Director will play a central role in expanding Goodbody's regional presence and influence, strengthening relationships with the region's entrepreneurs, business owners, families and professional networks. The role requires a strong market presence and the ability to represent the firm confidently across client, business and community networks throughout the region.
Working closely with colleagues across Wealth Management, Financial & Tax Planning, Investment Management, Client Advisory and Corporate Finance, the successful candidate will help develop and execute Goodbody's regional growth strategy while fostering a high-performance, client-centric culture and contributing to broader strategic initiatives across the business.
The role reports to the Senior Director, Regions.
Key Responsibilities
Regional Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of Senior Wealth Advisors and Wealth Management professionals in Cork and the wider Munster region.
- Foster a client-centric culture built on collaboration, accountability, commercial focus and professional excellence.
- Ensure consistent delivery of Goodbody’s wealth management proposition, service standards and strategic priorities across the regional team.
- Support talent development, employee engagement and succession planning within the Wealth Management business.
Business Development & Regional Growth
- Lead the growth of Goodbody’s Wealth Management business across Cork and Munster.
- Drive new client acquisition, revenue growth and funds under management through personal business development and leadership of the regional team.
- Build strong referral relationships with professional advisors, business owners, entrepreneurs and other centres of influence.
- Maintain a high-quality regional pipeline through referrals, networking, events and strategic market engagement.
Market Presence & Brand Ambassadorship
- Act as a visible senior ambassador for Goodbody across the Munster region.
- Represent the firm at client events, industry forums, business networks and community initiatives.
- Strengthen Goodbody’s profile and reputation within the regional business and professional community.
- Identify local market opportunities and sector trends that support continued regional growth.
Client Relationship Management
- Manage and grow a portfolio of key HNW and UHNW client relationships, delivering trusted advice across investment management, financial planning, retirement, succession and broader wealth needs.
- Act as a senior advisor to clients with complex financial circumstances, liquidity events and multi-generational planning requirements.
- Ensure all client relationships are managed to the highest standards of service, suitability, governance and long-term value creation.
Collaboration & Client Solutions
- Work closely with colleagues across Wealth Management, Investment Management, Financial & Tax Planning, Client Advisory and Corporate Finance to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Connect clients with the right expertise across Goodbody, ensuring advice reflects their investment, planning and family wealth objectives.
- Promote effective collaboration and cross-referral opportunities across the wider business.
Governance, Risk & Regulatory Oversight
- Champion a strong culture of compliance, conduct and risk management within the regional team.
- Ensure all advice, recommendations and client interactions meet Goodbody’s governance standards and regulatory obligations.
- Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards, with client interests at the centre of all activity.
- Fulfil Fitness & Probity requirements and provide appropriate oversight of regulated activity within the team.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are seeking a senior wealth management leader who demonstrates:
Experience: Minimum 10–15 years' experience in Wealth Management, Private Banking, Investment Advisory or Financial Planning.
Professional Qualifications: QFA required. CFP designation strongly preferred. CFA, CTA/AITI, RPA, SIA or equivalent wealth management qualifications would be advantageous.
Leadership: Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing client-facing teams through coaching, mentoring and performance management.
Commercial Delivery: Strong track record of growing client assets, revenue and new business in a sustainable and compliant manner.
Client Credibility: Extensive experience advising HNW and UHNW clients, including business owners, entrepreneurs, family groups and clients experiencing liquidity events, business exits or succession planning needs.
Regional Influence & Ambassadorship: Well-established network across Cork and Munster and the credibility to represent Goodbody across professional, business and community networks.
Strategic Mindset: Ability to identify growth opportunities and contribute to regional and firm-wide strategic priorities.
Professional Integrity & Collaboration: Demonstrates sound judgement, works effectively across business lines and upholds the highest standards of client care, governance and regulatory compliance.
