Business Accountabilities:
The successful candidate will hold a broad range of responsibilities in Financial Control, including the following:
- Responsible for leading, overseeing and developing the Cost and Tax team, including providing guidance to the team on a day-to-day basis.
- Review and attestation regarding monthly costs for the firm, engaging with key stakeholders.
- Provide detailed oversight and reporting insights on costs, including relevant policy compliance, cost trends, variances, budget overrun through the development of detailed monthly cost reporting in conjunction with relevant business partners.
- Monitoring and tracking annual cost budget following agreement, and preparing cost input to the financial planning process, including engagement with HR and other key stakeholders.
- Accountable for Goodbody tax reporting, including inputs to AIB Group in terms of VAT, CT and other third party returns as required.
- Oversight of engagement and management of insurance requirements for the Firm.
- Responsible for overseeing fixed asset reporting.
- Accounts payable oversight, including resolution of issues with existing processes and holding business lines to account for mis-postings/driving an improved cost culture and adherence with Firm policies.
- Ensuring a robust risk and control environment is in place through the documentation of detailed processes and procedures.
- Working with team and auditors on audit co-ordination and financial statement production
- Working with the team on ad hoc projects during the year.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Accountant.
- Minimum of five years post qualified experience, with strong hands-on financial accounting and reporting experience.
- Financial services / investment firm experience would be advantageous.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel is essential. Due to the high level of spreadsheet-based work in the role an excellent knowledge of Excel would be an advantage: Pivot tables, v-lookups and knowledge of formulae etc.
- Managerial experience or experience managing a team to deliver key objectives.
