About the Execution Trader role

 

The Execution Trader will work as part of a multi asset trading desk with responsibility for executing all Equity, CFD, Fixed Income, Fund, Money Market and Deposit trades for Wealth Management.  The trading desk assists the Wealth Management team in producing investment performance through the compliant, timely, cost efficient and effective execution of dealing activity.

Work as part of the team providing trading services to a large client base of Online and Telephone clients' in the day-to-day management of our Execution client accounts by dealing professionally and promptly with all trading requests and customer service queries whilst ensuring compliance with regulations.

 

Execution Trader Business Accountabilities include:

 

  • Decide on dealing strategies in line with best execution and regulatory requirements, using voice and electronic execution options across a wide range of multi global markets.
  • Responsibility for the execution of all trades on behalf of Wealth Management including investment funds and fixed term deposits.
  • Liaise closely with Advisors regarding the execution of their orders, assisting with trade/pricing queries and providing market information.
  • On-going development of professional relationships with brokers & counterparties to improve service & liquidity options for clients.
  • Ensure that activity through the desk is completed in line with all relevant compliance/governance rules both internal and external. The successful applicant must keep themselves fully up to date with Goodbody compliance/risk procedures.
  • Duties include dealing with client orders and client queries while showing a can-do attitude focused on customer excellence and customer experience.
  • Seek to actively identify clients who may be suitable for some of our other Wealth Management Services and generate referrals.
  • Proactively identify products or services that can add value to our customer proposition.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • The successful candidate must be a Qualified Registered Representative of Irish Stock Exchange.
  • The successful candidate should hold the ISE Test of competence in Xetra. If the candidate does not have this qualification, GBS will sponsor the candidate who will be expected to obtain this qualification within an agreed time frame.
  • A business related third level qualification would be a distinct advantage.
  • Experience of using Fidessa & Bloomberg would be helpful.
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2+ year's experience in a similar role in a financial institution.
  • Specific experience in dealing Equities and/or Fixed Income in multiple global markets would be a distinct advantage.

  • Ability to handle multi complex tasks in a pressurised and demanding environment.
  • The large volume of trades executed through the trading desk requires the candidate to be capable of working with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency with excellent attention to detail and organisation.
  • Awareness of the regulatory environment would be an advantage.
  • Flexible, positive attitude in their approach to work. Working as a key part of the team in providing support to colleagues and ensuring that the department maintains optimum performance and delivery of objectives.
  • Excellent time management with the ability to work to tight deadlines and handle multiple demands.
  • A professional manner - presentable and personable with a calm demeanour
