About the Tax Specialist Role

The Tax Specialist plays a pivotal role within Goodbody Wealth Management – Technical Support Services, supporting highquality client outcomes across the firm’s financial planning and advisory propositions. The role focuses on the delivery of sophisticated tax and financial planning expertise to HighNetWorth and UltraHighNetWorth clients and their advisers.

 

You will support Goodbody Wealth Management’s mission to deliver exceptional, compliant and clientcentric advice by contributing technical insight, strategic thinking and collaborative support to Financial Planning Specialists, Strategic Advisors and other teams across the business.

 

This is a permanent, highimpact technical role that combines deep tax knowledge, client interaction and business development.

 

You will report directly to the Head of Tax and play a pivotal role in the evolution of Goodbodys financial planning offering

 

Tax Specialist Accountabilities include:

 

Client Planning & Technical Delivery

  • Coordinate, prepare and review comprehensive Financial Plans for HNW and UHNW clients, ensuring high technical accuracy and clear communication of tax impacts.
  • Produce tax‑related and financial‑planning‑related written material for investment proposals, reports and client‑facing documents.
  • Maintain and further develop the firm’s technical aids, guidance materials and complex investment structure tools.
  • Attend client meetings as a subject‑matter expert, translating complex tax issues into actionable, client‑friendly insights.
  • Business development activities - working with Goodbody Brand and other relevant parts of Goodbody.
  • Development of business relationships with introducer/referral network, prospective clients, clients' advisors and family offices.
  • Working with and supporting Financial Planning Specialists and Strategic Advisors in meeting FPU & FUM targets and goals.
  • Strategic development of financial planning service offering.
  • Support to the business on tax related matters.

 

 

 

Regulatory, Operational & Technical Excellence

  • Demonstrate deep technical understanding of CPC‑related and other regulatory requirements relevant to tax and financial planning activities.
  • Apply high ethical and professional standards in all client interactions, consistent with Goodbody’s values and regulatory obligations.
  • Ensure that tax analysis and guidance are delivered to the highest standards of technical accuracy, governance and documentation requirements.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

Professional & Academic Requirements

The successful candidate will hold relevant thirdlevel and professional qualifications. The following are considered particularly suitable:

 

  • Business, financial or investmentrelated thirdlevel qualification.
  • Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) or STEP qualification; ACA is an advantage.
  • QFA and/or CFP qualifications.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ tax experience within practice, advisory or financial services.
  • Experience advising clients on pensions, retirement planning, estate planning and protection is advantageous.
  • Strong digital literacy including MS Office, CRM systems, Zoom, and preferably financial planning tools such as Voyant.
