The Business Support role will support the Business Advisors and New Business Advisors in developing, maintaining and managing relationships for an assigned portfolio of customers, and new to bank customers, ensuring the customer receives consistently exceptional service whilst leveraging their relationships to identify new business opportunities and grow the customer base. The role will complete all credit fulfilment, ongoing credit management and reviews on behalf of the SME function, with a key focus on accuracy of information and speed of delivery in order to provide exceptional customer service and drive efficiency and productivity in SME Operations.

 

Key accountabilities for the role are as follows:  

 

 

  • Supports Business Advisors / New Business Advisors in managing and developing relationships, and identifying new business opportunities, with existing and New to Bank customers, to achieve Sales and Income goals.
  • Supports Business Advisors / New Business Advisors to deliver highly compelling service propositions for customers.
  • Deals with all customer queries and daily banking enquiries, navigating AIB and leveraging the full suite of AIB products, tools, services and channels to deliver exceptional customer service and experience.
  • Completes well-written, balanced credit applications, ensuring that a minimum of one review per connection is completed within 12 months where required.
  • Undertakes detailed financial analysis to anticipate potential issues and ensure that any negative trends are identified, discussed with the Business Advisor and actioned with the borrower.

 

Credit Fulfilment & Support 

 

  • Supports the SME team in all credit fulfilment, ongoing credit management and review requirements, ensuring accuracy of information and speed of delivery in order to provide exceptional customer service, while also meeting all legislative and compliance requirements.
  • Manages the credit fulfilment process, coordinating with relevant internal and external stakeholders in order to gather the required information and sign-offs to complete the letter of offer.
  • Ensures all relevant information is gathered to satisfy any covenants and special conditions requirements.
  • Escalates any significant issues in credit fulfilment process to relevant Business Advisor and/or Team Leader to ensure swift resolution.
  • Monitors and manages workflow diary, coordinating with Business Advisors in communications with customers in order to ensure requirements are met and any breach of conditions avoided.
  • Conducts necessary Anti-Money Laundering and Fraud processes including administration of MLO duties, ongoing Due Diligence processes and communication of Fraud / CJA notices / legal tracers.

 

Risk, Regulatory and Compliance 

 

  • Ensures personal adherence to AIB standards of credit management, legislative compliance and operational excellence requirements, and proactively keeps up to date with the evolving regulatory landscape.

 

What will you need?

 

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a banking credit role or relevant accountancy experience
  • Knowledge of all AIB SME offerings and an awareness of AIB Personal and Housing product offerings
  • Knowledge and experience of SME business banking
  • Understanding of the wider industry, local market context and local competitor activity
  • While QFA is preferable, minimum requirement of APA Loans and APA Savings & Investments

 

In line with our commitment to deliver the most superior experience to the customer, successful candidates will be required to have completed the Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) qualification or to complete the QFA qualification within two years of their appointment date.

 

  • Please note: Please ensure that you meet the minimum education requirements before applying for the role. A minimum of 360 points in the Leaving Certificate to include a pass in English and Maths at either Ordinary or Honours Level (or equivalent) OR a 2.2 Honours degree (Level 8) is required.
