Location: Dublin City - Hybrid of Remote Working and a Head Office (currently working remotely)


This role is being offered on a temporary 12 month contract.


Summary of the Role:

We are inviting applications for a solicitor position on the Products Legal Services Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a legal team working in a dynamic area to support AIB Group in the design, delivery and lifecycle of its consumer and SME products, its regulatory implementation and in achieving its strategic ambitions, particularly in the area of digitalisation. 

This role involves supporting product-owning units such as Credit Products, Cards and Payments and Mortgage Products. It also involves engagement with a wide range of governance and regulatory/business committees.


We’re looking for someone who shows:

  • Strategic and Commercial Acumen: can “see the bigger picture” in advisory work and provide strategic and clear legal advice.  Also, someone who has a keen interest in AIB Group’s conduct agenda and digitalisation ambitions.
  • Collaboration and Influencing: has strong collaboration skills to work across our function and many stakeholder functions in the Bank.

You will need to show us that you are/ have:

  1. Qualified solicitor/barrister, authorised to practice in Ireland, and have a minimum of 4-5 years’ PQE banking law experience.
  2. Regulatory, banking, general contract law and e-commerce experience
  3. Experience on business or regulatory implementation projects of benefit
  4. The following skills:
  • an ability to be brave, demonstrate a strategic mindset, ensure accountability, instil trust and manage ambiguity;
  • strong stakeholder management and influencing skills and a willingness to challenge;
  • ability to work efficiently and manage competing priorities;
  • ability to identify and manage legal risk, including assessing solutions;
  • good oral and written communication skills and good drafting and technical skills
