What is the Role:

  • The AML/CFT Compliance Manager is a leadership role reporting to the Head of AML/CFT Compliance within Group Compliance.  
  • The role is responsible for leading a team of AML/CFT subject matter experts, providing co-ordinated second line oversight, challenge, and advisory support to ensure AIB meets its statutory and regulatory obligations across AML and CFT risk management.
  • The role holder plays a key part in embedding the Group Financial Crime Framework, driving high standards of regulatory compliance, strengthening risk culture, and supporting strategic transformation initiatives.

 

Key accountabilities:

 

  • Leading a small team of AML/CFT experts.
  • Monitoring emerging AML/CFT risks, legal/regulatory developments, industry guidance, and assessing applicability to the Bank.
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with other business support and control functions.
  • Representing the Bank at internal committees, working groups, and relevant external industry forums.
  • Positively influencing and challenging businesses areas to ensure that adequate and effective AML/CFT Controls are implemented and maintained
  • Providing expert AML/CFT advice to business units, senior management, and Group functions, including support for:
    • New products/service proposals
    • Regulatory change projects
    • Market expansion, delivery channels, and technology changes

 

 

 

What you Will Bring ;

 

  • At least 3 years previous management experience within a Compliance or Control function
  • Holder of a Professional Compliance Qualification and relevant Continuous Professional (CPD) Accreditation and/or relevant qualification/professional membership (e.g. ACOI, Legal qualification)
  • A strong understanding of current and emerging AML/CFT risks and practical experience of managing an effective control environment
  • Previous experience in interpretation of legislation and/or knowledge of AML/CFT regulation
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with an ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and varied decision making scenarios
