What is the Role:

The Risk Function is an independent, second line of defence function that monitors, controls, and supports risk-taking activities across AIB.  The purpose of the Risk Function is to provide advice and guidance in relation to risk while providing independent oversight and reporting on AIB’s risk profile.

The Risk Function’s main objective is to ensure AIB has a robust risk management framework and culture in place to ensure risks are taken within the risk appetite set by the Board, in support of AIB’s customer franchise and social responsibility. 

 

The Role

This role is in the Risk Technology and Transformation team, reporting to the Non-Financial Risk Enablement Design Lead. The candidate will drive AIB’s Non-Financial Risk (NFR) enablement strategy, lead solution design for Risk and Compliance, and support transforming our NFR platform.

 

Key accountabilities;

  • Support the maturity of Non-Financial Risk architecture within our Risk & Compliance domain
  • Partner and engage with business teams to ensure solutions meet their needs and objectives.
  • Design and deliver secure, scalable integration solutions and lead integrations across Non-Financial Risk platforms like Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) etc.
  • Collaborate with Technology and Data Teams to leverage enterprise capabilities for the Risk & Compliance domain.
  • Bring a continuous improvement mindset to the Risk function, supporting ongoing process improvement across the team.          

 

What you Will Bring ; 

  • At least 7 years’ experience supporting business stakeholders enabling change with technical design solutions.
  • Proven experience in solution design and technical architecture; evidence of an outcome-based approach to both.
  • Experience in application design and system and technology integration; with a proven record of designing solutions to business problems, while demonstrating creativity, innovation and best-practice design techniques.
  • Relevant third-level qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to work with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Architecture certification (such as TOGAF or Zachman) or equivalent experience in designing technology solutions.
  • Experience supporting risk and compliance activities, with an understanding of relevant regulations (such as DORA, GDPR, ISO 27001, or AML) is desirable.
