What is the Role:
Lead complex technology contracting and help shape the future of legal support for AIB’s digital transformation. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, mentoring others and driving operational excellence. The role is based in Dublin and is central to AIB’s digital and operational strategy
Key accountabilities;
- Lead drafting and negotiation of complex technology and commercial agreements (software, SaaS, cloud, outsourcing/MSAs), embedding regulatory and AI controls.
- Advise on AI governance and cyber resilience, partnering with Cyber/IT teams and business stakeholders.
- Support third-party risk and supplier management, ensuring robust contractual frameworks and playbooks.
- Develop and maintain clause baselines, playbooks, and measurable KPIs (cycle time, backlog).
- Mentor and supervise, coach peers, and set high standards for delivery and accountability.
- Represent Legal at senior fora.
- Champion continuous improvement and operational excellence.
What you Will Bring ;
- Expert, up-to-date knowledge of technology, commercial, AI, and cyber law, ensuring practical and compliant legal advice.
- Leadership and inspiration for teams, building strong partnerships and championing a collaborative, inclusive culture.
- Ownership of outcomes, upholding high standards, and communicating with clarity and integrity.
- Customer-centric approach, building effective relationships and delivering solutions that benefit clients and communities.
- Drive for continuous improvement by encouraging new ideas, creative thinking, and diverse perspectives.
- Qualified Solicitor/Lawyer (Ireland/UK) with 7+ years’ PQE in technology law/commercial contracts, including complex negotiations.
- Strong track record across SaaS/cloud/outsourcing, experience of AI governance and cyber; confident advising on DORA/EBA Outsourcing and GDPR/data issues.
- Evidenced leadership in mentoring, quality assurance and operational excellence (templates, playbooks, MI).
