Are you a Chartered Valuation Surveyor with experience of high-value assets across a wide range of UK commercial asset types?  Are you looking for a new exciting opportunity?  AIB Group (UK) p.l.c. has a role for you within the newly formed Centre of Specialisation Valuations team.

 

What is the Role:

You will be part of a new function working within a team setup specifically to support business teams in the procurement and validation of external valuations and ongoing monitoring of Asset Values for the purposes of lending.  You will have an amazing opportunity to be part of a new team from the ‘get go’ and add real value to their success.  Your consultancy skills will be a key enabler by bringing your experience and market knowledge to support your internal stakeholders to ensure we are reviewing and assessing our assets in the right way.

 

Key accountabilities:

 

Consultant / Specialist

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of RICS red book valuation standards for the purpose of secured lending, to support the business. 
  • Strong level of technical / industry / system knowledge of the Collateral and Valuation processes, guidelines, and policies to support the business in an advisory capacity.
  • Act as a Consultant / Liaison for the more complex valuations within the UK business.

 

Training

  • Provide “one to one” training to develop individuals on the team to become Subject Matter Experts in their area of expertise.
  • Work collaboratively with other Centres of Specialisation / Group Valuations Oversight unit to ensure consistency of approach and adoption of “best practices” across all teams.
  • Support the development of the wider team to drive consistency, productivity, accuracy of output and operational efficiency across the full spectrum of external and internal reviews.

 

Q.A./ Approval

  • Support ongoing efforts to establish standardised approaches to completing Critical Reviews and internal monitoring assessments across varying asset classes, to reduce re-works and increase overall quality in line with Policy.
  • Undertake and complete an agreed Q.A. approach to ensure both Critical Reviews and internal monitoring assessments completed by the team are in compliance with AIB Property Valuation Guidance requirements.

 

Process Improvements

  • Be a liaison with Credit Risk to ensure Unit outputs are consistently completed to the Policy standard.
  • Devise and manage an asset class valuation repository to house comparable transaction data to assist and support the team in their assessments, to deliver efficiency and consistency in outputs.

 

You will need to demonstrate experience of both Real Estate and trading business valuations, ideally across the following SME / Corporate sectors:

 

  • Hotels.
  • Healthcare.
  • Commercial Real Estate:  Commercial Investment & Development across all sub-sectors, Office, Retail, Mixed Use, Logistics, Industrial and other alternative asset classes.
  • Residential Real Estate: Social Housing, Purpose Built Student Accommodation, Residential Investment (PRS / BTL) and Residential Development.
  • Infrastructure.
  • Agriculture.

Key Capabilities:

  • Minimum 7 years Chartered / post-qualification experience, gained in a property valuation or real estate environment is essential; knowledge or exposure to valuation oversight activities in Financial Markets is preferable, although not essential.
