AIB UK Finance are looking for an experienced qualified accountant, preferably with Financial Services experience, to join our Financial Business Partner team supporting the UK Retail business. The Financial business partner team is a future-focussed team supporting the businesses of AIB GB in Britain and AIB NI in Northern Ireland. This role focuses primarily on supporting the AIB NI Retail business in delivering against their strategic and financial objectives by acting as a trusted advisor, assisting the business in decision making.
AIB UK Finance is one of the key support and control functions for AIB UK and is key to AIB UK’s success in delivering its strategic and financial objectives. We are a group of 25+ professionals operating from offices in Belfast and London, with responsibility for Business Partnering, Cost Management & Transformation, Statutory and Regulatory Reporting and Asset & Liability Management (ALM).

The role offers the right candidate the opportunity to develop a deep knowledge of AIB NI’s mortgage, deposit, retail and SME businesses and exposure to wider AIB UK and Group Finance support.
We are looking for someone who will:
- Review monthly financial results for the AIB UK Retail business, identifying variances to financial and business plan and re-forecasting based on same.
- Prepare and report financial results at monthly AIB UK Retail Leadership Team.
- Coordinate the monthly new business/balance sheet forecast across the AIB UK Retail business, feeding into the wider AIB UK forecast.
- Support the coordination of the budgeting process for AIB UK Retail business including collation of the financial plan to inform the AIB UK Financial Plan. This includes engagement with Mortgage, Retail and NI SME teams to review and update the financial plan and document underlying assumptions.
- Support ad hoc information requirements as part of wider UK Strategic Plan.
- Maintain the Pricing Model for Mortgages and Personal Loans including summary of “Risk Adjusted Return on Capital” across pricing bands.
- Support the business in the re-pricing of Mortgages, Personal Loans and Deposits.
- Regular review of Balance Sheet Sensitivity to interest rate movements.
- Completion of Product Reviews as part of UK Product & Pricing Committee.
- Support ad hoc Business and Regulatory requests for the AIB UK Retail Business.
- Support Transformation and Strategic projects for the UK Retail business, as required.
What you will bring:
- Accounting qualification desirable (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with 3+ years experience in a relevant role, preferably including experience in the Financial Services sector.
- Experience of preparing financial insights/analysis to support decision making.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills including demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- An ability to work both independently and collaboratively to problem solve and implement changes.
- An ability to manage competing priorities and to deliver against tight deadlines.
