What is the Role:
The Planning, Performance & Engagement team (PP&E) within AIB Technology & Data has a key role in enabling the Bank’s strategy by driving transparency, consistency, and accountability across all Technology & Data (T&D) functions. The Finance team are a vital part of the PP&E team and are responsible for managing the Technology & Data operational expenditure budget, engaging with the wider technology teams to provide assurance & insight.
The suitable candidate will contribute actively to the T&D cost management agenda, ensuring consistency and predictability are built into BAU financial management activities, and engaging with new financial operating models e.g. FinOps, agile ways of working. While your specific focus is on finance, you will actively participate in initiatives across areas aligned with agreed key priorities within the PP&E team.
Key accountabilities:
- Build a strong understanding of the wide variety of technology operational costs including software and hardware renewals, outsourcing and partner contracts, FinOps/Cloud Op Model, Agile, legal, advisory etc.
- Evolve and operationalise the tracking and management of the monthly technology run costs and month end procedures, seeking opportunities for efficiencies without compromising the data.
- Support the wider PP&E Finance team with month end processes, ensuring accurate management and reporting of technology cost data.
- Key contributor to the in-year forecasting and annual planning process.
- Assist in the development of a multi-year planning process to drive predictability and support the value management agenda.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues across multiple areas in T&D and the wider organisation to ensure that the platform is appropriately positioned from a governance & financial management perspective.
What you will bring:
- Experience in a role with financial management aspects, strong numerical competence and excellent excel abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to influence at all levels and extract key messages from senior stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
- Understanding of technology strategies, industry cost drivers and how this impacts technology operational costs.
- Ability to multitask, reprioritise and work under pressure with the capability to pivot as the need arises.
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills, able to perform meaningful analysis and deliver under time constraints.
