Cyber Security Engineering Lead

Location/Office Policy:  Central Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18 / Hybrid (Remote Centric)

What is the Role:

Reporting to the Head of Security Engineering & Operations, the role holder will lead a team of engineers to iteratively improve security capability and align our best of breed security product portfolio against north star patterns. You will be accountable for operating, simplifying and continuously improving Security and Resilience technologies, ensuring they are optimally deployed to protect the Bank and our customers.

 

You would be experienced in Defensive Engineering, embedding resilient, secure design principles into the DNA of our technologies and services, with a focus on delivering against the Banks cyber strategy.   

 

Key accountabilities:

  1. Lead and mentor a team of direct reports made up of technical Security Engineers that can work cross functionally, driving clear and consistent rhythms of communication and inter-departmental leadership providing clarity, direction and fostering excellence in delivery of security platforms.
  2. Partner with, optimise and enhance relationships with external managed service providers, product teams, architects, and other business departments to engineer solutions which protect the Banks most important information assets and services.
  3. Promoting Baseline Security Configuration requirements for on-premises applications, cloud services, and SaaS applications.
  4. Develop and implement advanced security capabilities to protect sensitive financial data, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  5. Manage a programme of excellence across the cybersecurity platform stack, including processes relating to the documentation, inventory, and metrics.
  6. Act as a champion to drive continuous improvement and excellence in cyber security tooling in the organisation, including analysing capability gaps and evolving toolsets to meet new threats and requirements.
  7. Act as a coordination and escalation lead for tooling support, troubleshooting, and problem escalation related to cyber security tooling within AIB, including the oversight and close engagement with third party teams where they are responsible for supporting technologies.
  8. Providing leadership, oversight and technical security direction and support in the event of cyber incidents, alerts/events and/or related data breaches.
  9. Collaborate with Leadership, Architecture, Design, Regulatory, and Business teams to ensure correct design, development and implementation of cyber security solutions.

 

Minimum Criteria:

  1. 10+ years enterprise technology experience, with a proven track record in the delivery of Cyber Security technology solutions, including problem solving experience within complex, multi-partner delivered technology environments. 
  2. Previous experience leading technical Security teams such as Security Engineering, Security Operations, and/or Security Architecture. Previous experience in roles such as a Security Architect, Security Operations Lead or technical Security Auditor is a bonus.
  3. Strong hands-on experience of Cyber Security tooling technologies, across a range of leading security vendors and control domains, including endpoint security, endpoint response, web proxies, email security, identity security, data security, Microsoft 365 Security, and logging and monitoring technologies.
  4. Very strong communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues and resolution strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences at senior levels within the bank & with 3rd parties. 
  5. Active Security Leadership Certifications, such as: CISSP, ISSMP, ISSAP, CISM, or GSLC as well as vendor certifications related to security tooling domains as listed above.
  6. Strong knowledge of information security and risk control frameworks such as NIST and Mitre.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
