About the Role

As Head of Data Quality at AIB, you will define and lead the enterprise-wide data quality strategy, roadmap, and operating model to ensure data is trusted, fit for purpose, and effectively governed across the organisation. You will build and manage a high-performing team of data quality professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

In this strategic leadership role, you will drive the adoption of scalable and sustainable data quality tools and automation, enabling proactive issue detection and resolution. You will collaborate closely with business and technology leaders to embed data quality practices throughout the data lifecycle, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and regulatory requirements.

You will be responsible for establishing and monitoring enterprise data quality KPIs and reporting frameworks, providing transparency and actionable insights to stakeholders. As a champion for data quality awareness, you will lead initiatives to elevate data literacy and accountability across AIB.


 

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the enterprise data quality strategy, roadmap, and operating model.
  • Build and manage a high-performing team of data quality professionals.
  • Advance the use of data quality tools and automation to deliver scalable, sustainable solutions.
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to embed data quality practices across the data lifecycle.
  • Establish and monitor enterprise data quality KPIs and reporting frameworks.
  • Champion data quality awareness across the organisation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including BCBS239, Data Protection, and EGIM.
  • Represent AIB in external and regulatory engagements on data quality matters.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Extensive experience in data quality, governance, and management is essential, along with substantial leadership experience in driving strategic data initiatives.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling data quality capabilities in complex, regulated environments.
  • Deep understanding of data quality frameworks, tooling, and industry best practices.
  • Experience with modern data platforms, cloud technologies, and data governance tools.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and change management skills.
  • Excellent communication and influencing abilities at senior levels.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and data risk management.
