What is the role:
Market risk is a material risk for the bank. The Market Risk team operates within the Financial Risk department and its role is to provide second line challenge to the front line market risk taking functions.
A vacancy exists within the Market Risk team at Manager level. Reporting directly to the Head of Market Risk, this person will play a central role in the delivery of strong second line review and challenge of the Group’s market risk exposures. The successful candidate will have regular interaction with senior stakeholders across risk, finance and the business.
Key accountabilities:
- Develop concise and effective presentations for senior management/committee relating to market risk.
- Provide independent second line review and challenge of the Group’s market risk profile.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, influencing them to achieve desired outcomes.
- Review and challenge the Group’s market risk stress testing to ensure the Group’s approach remains fit for purpose.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, influencing them to achieve desired outcomes.
What you will bring:
- Excellent presentation skills, both verbal and written; ability to produce concise and effective communication.
- Strong analytical skills, with a proven ability to draw out key narrative and messages from information/ data.
- Knowledge of financial markets, financial products and risk measurement techniques, with knowledge of Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB) an advantage.
- Suitable for a candidate who wishes to develop their market risk knowledge and experience.
- Candidate will be a graduate in a business / finance or quantitative discipline with 6-8 years of experience of working in a banking and/or risk role.
