We are seeking a dedicated Senior Financial/Risk Reporting & Data Validation Specialist to join our Second Line Assurance (SLA) team, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring robust risk management practices across the Group. Second Line Assurance play an important role in informing senior management and the Board on the adequacy and effectiveness of our risk management and internal control environment. Our team is led by the Head of Second Line Assurance who reports into the Group Chief Risk Officer, Group Risk Committee and Board Risk Committee.
This role of Senior Financial/Risk Reporting & Data Validation Specialist will support and execute the end-to-end validation process for the BCBS 239 (Basel’s Principles for effective risk data aggregation and reporting) in relation to financial data and regulatory reporting, assessing the supporting processes, completeness and accuracy of data flowing into key financial reports to ensure compliance with regulation.

Key accountabilities;
Lead validation reviews from beginning to end, including:
- Participating in the planning and execution of BCBS 239 testing and validation activities, to assess compliance with BCBS 239 requirements.
- Assist the review Manager in defining a review scope, test strategy, and execute testing;
- Interact professionally and efficiently with business areas and key stakeholders;
- Complete comprehensive data validation and controls testing, including the use of data analytics, to validate processes and allow for the identification of any issues;
- Assist the review Manager in preparing and agreeing detailed final review reports for senior management;
- Contribute to committee and board reports to ensure senior management are up to date and aware of key compliance issues;
- Support the delivery of reviews across the wider team, providing your knowledge, technical expertise and insights, to develop innovative testing solutions, including Data Analytics, to evaluate data accuracy and completeness of the in-scope review areas.
- Manage the resolution of agreed issues with the business areas and stakeholders within agreed timetables.
What you Will Bring ;
- 4+ years’ experience working within a Finance department or equivalent with an understanding of the workings of a Regulatory Reporting within the Banking environment.
- Qualified or working towards Accountant (ACCA/ACA or equivalent IIA/CISA).
- Data Analysis experience, advanced MS Excel and/or other analytics tools would be an advantage i.e. SQL, Python, Power BI, SAS, Qlikview and Tableu.
- Has a lot of initiative, excellent attention to detail, strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
- Have a proven understanding and experience of banking/financial services industry regulations, key banking processes, financial products and/or systems, especially related to finance and data management and reporting capabilities is a plus.
- Have a proven experience of Audit, Finance or Risk Management in a Financial Services environment and associated risks, clear understanding and knowledge of control and risk management methodologies.
