What is the role
In Risk Analytics, we develop and support the deployment of risk models, strategies and decision tools for regulatory capital, internal capital and business decision making.
Risk Analytics is part of the Risk Function, this is an independent, second line of defence function that monitors, controls, and supports risk-taking activities across AIB. The purpose of the Risk Function is to provide advice and guidance in relation to risk while providing independent oversight and reporting on AIB’s risk profile. The Risk Function’s main objective is to ensure AIB has a robust risk management framework and culture in place to ensure risks are taken within the risk appetite set by the Board, in support of AIB’s customer franchise and social responsibility.
The role of Head of Stress Testing Model Development sits within Risk Analytics and reports into the Head of Risk Analytics. The Stress Testing & Economic Capital team within Risk Analytics is responsible for assessing the impact of credit risk on the bank’s balance sheet under a range of macroeconomic forecasts to support the ICAAP. Credit Risk is a key risk for AIB, and its forward-looking models play a critical role in a range of strategic initiatives in the bank.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the design and execution of complex stress testing frameworks to meet regulatory obligations and support ICAAP submissions.
- Develop and maintain robust economic capital models, ensuring capital adequacy and compliance with evolving regulatory standards.
- Embed climate risk into portfolio forecasting and model development, advancing strategic sustainability objectives and climate risk compliance.
- Oversee delivery of regulatory stress tests, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to regulators and senior management.
- Provide leadership and specialist expertise for critical risk modelling activities, maintaining resilience and continuity in analytics capabilities.
- Manage ongoing model development demands, responding to heightened regulatory scrutiny and supporting the Bank’s financial stability.
What you will bring
- 10+ years finance experience in a Risk, Finance or related role.
- Experience in compiling ICAAP, scenario analysis & portfolio management.
- Proficient understanding of related regulation in risk measurement or a related field.
- Direct experience in Senior stakeholder management & presentation
- Leading teams of high-performing analysts on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in regulatory reporting like COREP, EBA Stress test for operational risk will be advantageous.
- Past contribution to or management of regulatory submission or EBA stress testing submission is advantageous.
- Experience in leading a team of model developers. Proven ability to build relationships and communicate with key stakeholders
