GIA is now seeking applications from ambitious professionals who are keen to pursue an opportunity as an Audit Lead within the Models function.
Key accountabilities;
- Utilise statistical and mathematical techniques to assess the efficacy of models, identify potential risks and their impacts on business operations.
- Interpret complex data sets to identify trends and patterns that could indicate risks or opportunities.
- Develop and/or use code to perform data and model testing
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of key regulations relating to model risk for all model types in operation in AIB, including IRB models, and ensure AIB GIA meets regulatory expectations in relation to our audit approach for models;
- Engage with data, model development, model validation, and model implementation teams as required to gain a technical understanding of the data, model development process, model validation process, and model implementation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess capabilities and limitations of models.
- Identify, measure, manage, monitor and report on model risk facing AIB.
- Understand and utilise AIB's auditing principles and methodology to ensure safeguarding of corporate assets, compliance with laws and regulations, effective operations and reliable financial and operational information.
What you Will Bring;
- Experience in model development or model validation (required).
- Relevant third level qualification in an analytical discipline e.g. mathematics, applied mathematics, data science, computer science, physics, finance, economics, quantitative finance (required).
- Proficient in at least 1 of the following programming tools: SQL; SAS; python, R (required).
- Experience in model development or validation of IRB models (preferred).
- Experience in the development or validation of IFRS9 models (preferred).
- Experience working in internal audit (preferred).
- Experience/knowledge of model risk management and regulations (preferred).
