What is the Role:
The role is within the Corporate Restructuring team in Financial Solutions Group (“FSG”). The aim of the team is to support and restructure (where appropriate) corporate customers across a number of key sectors who may be in financial difficulty. We seek to intervene early in each case, undertake thorough credit analysis and regularly engage with borrowers and external advisors (legal & financial) in order to identify and support the optimal resolution.
We are responsible for managing and reporting a large proportion of the Banks Non-Performing Exposure (“NPE”) book, an important metric for all financial institutions.
Key accountabilities:
- Support and restructure (where appropriate) customers in financial difficulty. Undertake fundamental credit analysis of each case, seek to intervene as early as possible. Play a role in bringing these cases through the AIB credit approval process and ‘watchlist’ meetings.
- Take responsibility for the on-going Credit Risk Management of a portfolio of cases within FSG (Financial Solutions Group) UK, ensuring any negative trends are promptly identified, escalated and investigated, and a strategy recommended for resolution.
- Ensure AIB takes a strong role / participation in syndicated transactions.
- Maintain strong knowledge of macro environment, industry and regulatory trends, and how these impact current and future performance of the portfolio.
- Demonstrate robust understanding of procedures / policies / regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across FSG UK, Corporate Banking, Credit Risk and the wider Bank, and participate in internal working groups and forums, as required.
- Represent FSG at relevant industry events, taking opportunities to undertake meetings with market participants, and develop and enhance relationships with key external stakeholders.
What you Will Bring
- Demonstrate ability to problem solve to identify credit issues and create action plans.
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience of credit and/ or portfolio management and / or working in a financial advisory role.
- Experience in preparing financial analysis, report writing and strong working knowledge of excel.
- Experience in both bilateral and syndicated facility documentation and security arrangements is desirable but not a requirement.
- Good understanding of macroeconomic environment and industry trends within international markets.
- Strong interpersonal, communication & negotiation skills and an ability to manage relationships across internal / external stakeholders.
- Have a degree level qualification.
