The Chief Technology Office at AIB over sees the design, delivery and implementation of the platforms and services our customer and employee systems are built on. Leveraging our data & analytics we drive innovative change and build exciting new products, positioning AIB as the most digitally enabled bank in Ireland. Our teams comprise almost 3,000 people – a dynamic mix of permanent and partner resources.

Retail Banking

Retail Banking brings together teams who are focussed on delivering for our personal and SME customers into a single, integrated segment.   Retail Banking is the largest function within AIB - employing approximately 4500 AIB employees, and is core to the servicing of over 2.5million Personal and SME customers.  The function is central to the purpose of the AIB Group and a key contributor to the Bank’s financial and customer ambitions.  We are focused on meeting the current, emerging and future needs of our customers and on driving greater efficiency and simplifying processes for the benefit of our customers and our people.   The function plays a key role in the Group sustainability objectives through its management of customer propositions, products and customer/community engagement.

Corporate, Institutional & Business Banking

AIB Corporate, Institutional & Business Banking delivers customer-focused financing solutions, advice and specialised products to the bank’s largest customers. We pride ourselves as being long-term, strategic partners for our customers supporting them to grow their business and achieve their ambitions. Our  multi- disciplinary, relationship focused teams have strong sectoral expertise and a proven track record at delivering innovative financing solutions from senior debt and development finance to equity capital and mezzanine finance. Legal & Corporate Governance

As one of Ireland’s largest teams of in-house lawyers, Legal provides legal advice and support to AIB on all aspects of its business.  We are a cohesive, innovative group, comprised of both lawyers and non-lawyers, who understand the businesses we serve and work with them to protect and enable AIB as it meets the challenges of becoming a purpose-led, 21st century bank.  Through our own resources and our relationships with all of Ireland’s largest law firms we’re proud that we can offer our people the chance to be involved in cutting edge work that really drives AIB’s strategy forward, as well as personal development opportunities that go beyond simply learning the law and which are designed to deliver the blend of skills that legal professionals need to succeed.

Risk

Group Risk is an independent, second line of defence function that monitors, controls and supports risk-taking activities across AIB.   
The Risk Function provides advice and guidance in relation to risk and provides independent oversight and reporting on AIB’s risk profile.
Its main objective is to ensure AIB has a robust risk management framework and culture in place to ensure risks are taken within the risk appetite set by the Board, in support of its customer franchise and social responsibility. 
There are over 500 Risk professionals working within the Risk Function, across a range of teams including Compliance & Assurance, Credit Risk, Operational Risk among others and based in multiple geographical locations.

Group Internal Audit

GIA plays an essential role in challenging and influencing the business to ensure its control environment is robust to​ manage the risks the bank has to take to generate a return for our shareholders.
We align ourselves as much as possible to AIB whilst always remaining objective and independent. We have an extensive number of stakeholders: Executive, Non-Executive and Regulatory.

Corporate Affairs, Strategy & Sustainability

In Corporate Affairs & Strategy we work collaboratively with teams across the bank to deliver a number of group priorities. Our function includes teams such as Sustainability, Group Marketing, Group Strategy, Corporate Development, Customer Care, Internal Communications, Media Relations, Public Affairs and the Office of the CEO.  Our stakeholders are both internal and external ranging from customers to colleagues, to journalists, politicians, community partners and many others.
