DONNA REILLY- Human Resources

“As a Human Resources Business Partner my role is to offer strategic HR support to the business areas I work with.  The teams I support are based in several locations across Dublin so agile working is an absolute must for me.  Our technology allows me to work from anywhere, anytime.  This flexibility means I can work face to face more, build stronger relationships and really get to know how our business operates.  It also gives me great understanding of what’s happening on the ground for our employees.  I love that working in AIB is more about the work you do, not where you do it.  It also gives me the flexibility I need to manage my time effectively so I can be where I need to be on any given day.”

JOHN MCKEAG – Cork – Branch Banking

John has worked with AIB for 18 years in branch banking. He has been in based in lots of city centre branches and is currently in South Richmond Street.

“AIB has always felt like an inclusive place.  Happily I have never noticed any problems with diversity and have been very lucky to work in the city centre branches which have always had a diverse and inclusive workforce. One thing that I’ve found really helpful is working with others than can speak different languages. It means that you always have someone to help when you are dealing with customers for whom English isn’t their first language”.

“Agile working for me has meant that there has been flexibility in my role when it comes to parental leave. This helps with work/life balance”

DES MOORE - Serving customers now and in the future

When Des Moore, Head Of First Trust Bank, started his career in banking he never imagined that 34 years later he’d be at the helm of the Northern Ireland bank’s new strategy.  “The world is changing and our customers’ needs are more diverse than ever before. In response we’ve created a sustainable, efficient business which is ready to meet the challenges of the future. What will help us to do all of this is the flexibility and inclusive, supportive attitudes of the FTB teams – who should be proud of their in depth knowledge and expertise, and delivery of excellent customer service to customers all over Northern Ireland.”

BEN WOOLLEY – Dublin Branch Banking

Ben has been with AIB for 4 years, working across different departments and is currently in Grafton Street Branch.

“It definitely feels like diversity and inclusion has always been here at AIB since I joined. Agile working was prevalent in my other roles in AIB and you can feel that flexibility and understanding is coming into the way we work in branch banking more and more.  By being a bit more flexible and understanding of people’s lives outside work, you get it back in spades when you’re at work.  There is so much flexibility around people wanting to move laterally around the organisation. Making it a great opportunity to network and grow your experience outside of one business area. We have so much talent in AIB and moving laterally definitely helps this”
