About Group Internal Audit at AIB

There is now an Officer roles available in our Belfast location to join the GIA UK team. Team members do have some travel to Dublin and throughout the wider UK as is required. The UK audit team are responsible for the audit of key risks within the UK business, support functions in the UK as well as assessing the oversight of outsourced activities.


Your next challenge

  • Participate in audits from beginning to end including definition of audit scope, test strategy, execution of testing, summary of issues and final report;
  • Provide an independent evaluation and opinion on control environment and management awareness rating;
  • Review and interpret processed data to identify trends and investigate exceptional items;
  • Monitor, on a risk basis, the resolution of agreed management actions with the business areas within agreed timetables;
  • Co-ordinate & deliver quality audit reports containing recommendations which have been agreed with management ensuring that the recommendations are realistic and achievable and cost effective and add value to the business;
  • Communicate effectively with senior management across the organisation by positively conveying the role and value of internal audit;


What you’ll need to have

  • For this role, we are looking for people with a professional audit/accountancy or who are currently undergoing exams to obtain such qualification. (Ideally CIA, PRNCE, ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
  • A minimum of two years in a financial services and/or audit environment.
  • Preference for people who have practical experience of providing assurance or who have a working knowledge of key risk in the financial services sector.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
  • And finally you’ll have lots of initiative and excellent attention to detail.
