Role Title:  Assurance Control Tester



Summary of role:

A key deliverable of the assurance team is to provide robust first line independent assurance testing across the CTO function through assurance reviews of key controls. Issues identified are documented in a report that is issued to the relevant business area and all assurance outputs recorded in the bank’s risk management system Shield. 

This role will require you to be a motivated self-starter, with an ability to work in a skilled team and interact with all levels of staff throughout AIB.

The key accountabilities/responsibilities are as follows:

  • Execute assigned First Line Assurance (FLA) reviews in line with the FLA Framework, FLA Methodology and GAM and according to the approved annual plan.
  • Execute control testing activities based on the agreed test steps to ensure that the controls within the business unit are designed appropriately and operating effectively.
  • Identify and document control failures and instances of non-adherence to policy and procedures through testing activities in line with agreed methodologies.
  • Ensure testing deadlines are met and reviews are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders through the course of an assurance review and engage with colleagues to exchange information within the team.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual Assurance plan, including completion of assurance needs assessments with the CTO and his SMT.



Minimum Criteria Please note that the following criteria form the basis of your answers on the application form.

  • 1-2 years’ experience in an assurance or audit role, preferably Financial Services.
  • Assurance, Risk or Compliance qualification is an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Excellent communication & time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail skills.
