Group Internal Audit (GIA) is not your typical audit function. We’re looking for someone who can:


  • Be a people Leader for a team of auditors responsible for the timely delivery of high quality audits.
  • Identify change risk in AIB and develop a change risk audit strategy, and audit plan, to allow Group Internal Audit provide adequate assurance of the controls in place to mitigate this risk.
  • Ensure AIB GIA meet regulatory expectations in relation to change, and engage with senior management, and the Board Audit Committee in relation to this.
  • Through leading internal audits, challenge the change risk related internal control processes of the Change Operations teams and business areas in the bank in order to assure operation of these controls, and ultimately improve the change risk control environment in AIB.
  • Produce reports which accurately document issues identified, and issue these to the business in line with agreed timelines.
  • Act as a change risk SME in GIA by demonstrating experience of change/programme management and interpretation in the context of banking risks.

You will need to show us that you can/have:


  • Are professionally qualified (ideally CIA, CMIIA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA); 
  • Have a minimum of five years in a financial services and/or audit environment;
  • Have a proven understanding and experience of banking and/or finance and/or regulatory requirements;
  • Have a proven experience of Financial Reporting and/or Treasury activities and Risk Management in a Banking environment and associated risks, clear understanding and knowledge of risk management methodologies; and
  • Are an experienced people leader with responsibility for leading and motivating highly effective teams.
