This role is being offered on a Permanent basis.


The primary objectives of the Prudential Advisory & Regulatory Oversight Team are:

  • Comprehensive identification, challenge of interpretation and assessment of regulatory compliance risk
  • Setting and communicating Regulatory Compliance Policies for the Group
  • Provision of pro-active regulatory (Conduct of Business and Prudential) focussed advice and guidance through review and challenge
  • Instilling ownership of compliance risk within the 1st line Business Areas through targeted training and awareness initiatives
  • Reporting on regulatory compliance risk to the CEO and the Board directly through the Board Risk Committee (BRC)
  • Facilitating regulatory liaison in respect of regulatory compliance risk and fulfilling our statutory responsibilities
  • Monitoring the regulatory horizon (Conduct, Prudential, AML & Data Protection) and consider the impact of new regulation on AIB
  • Reviewing & providing updates and briefings on regulatory matters across AIB
  • Maintaining the Regulatory Compliance Universe and developing the Regulatory Compliance Obligations Register
  • Reviewing & challenging AIB Group policies and supporting regulatory gap analysis

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Manage a team of compliance professionals to ensure delivery of the Compliance plan
  • Constructively engage with key business relationships to ensure that business units are aware of new and existing regulations impacting the business and developments in the regulatory environment
  • Provide relevant, consistent and timely risk appropriate advice and support to the business
  • Co-ordinate accurate and timely response to regulatory authorities’ correspondence
  • Represent the Compliance function at governance and business forums
  • Delivery of training to business on regulatory requirements and regulatory change
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of AIB processes and organisational structure
  • Attend industry events including consultations, briefings, committees and working groups as required
  • Draft policies and procedures related to the team in line with the Regulatory Compliance Framework
  • Support and embed a strong risk culture at all times throughout the organisation

You will need to show us that you can/have:


  1. Have a minimum of eight years in a financial services environment, preferably in a Compliance, Risk or Upstream Regulation role. Relevant qualifications would be advantageous.
  2. Have a proven understanding and experience of key banking regulations, directives, standards and guidelines and the ability to provide accurate advice, review and challenge. 
  3. Have a proven understanding and experience of key banking products in the context of the regulatory environment.
  4. Have a proven experience of Compliance and Conduct Risk Management in a Banking environment and associated risks, clear understanding and knowledge of risk management methodologies. Experience of using these skills as part of Compliance reporting would be advantageous.
  5. Have a proven experience in managing relationships with business stakeholders and/or regulators
