About the Role:

 

The Corporate Governance Team ensures there is a simple, efficient and compliant corporate governance structure in place to support the Group. Our aim is to streamline and simplify our executive governance structure and to deliver on a number of key initiatives to further enhance our corporate governance structure.  We also provide secretariat support and corporate governance advice to the Executive Committee, Board Audit and Risk Committees as well as the Board Advisory Committees. In addition, we drive and monitor compliance with legal and regulatory corporate governance requirements, including the CBI Corporate Governance Requirements for Credit Institutions, the UK Corporate Governance Code and relevant EBA requirements.

 

This role requires initiative, attention to detail and excellent communication skills.  You will also need to effectively manage relationships, to work with senior executives, and be able to learn quickly.

 

 Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting Committee Secretaries with the publication of Committee meeting materials on Diligent for our internal stakeholders and on Intralinks for our external stakeholders.
  • Supporting Committee Secretaries in delivering a fit for purpose meeting administration process for Committee meeting arrangements.
  • Providing support for projects, ad-hoc requests and business as usual activity on the Committee and Executive streams.
  • Assisting with the Group’s Corporate Governance external reporting and assurance requirements as required throughout the year.
  • Supporting with the delivery of time sensitive regulatory information requests, and onsite inspections as required.
  • Contribute to and provide cover for certain administrative activities.
  • Supporting the Corporate Governance Management Team as required including with team meetings.
  • Assisting with the creation and preparation of a variety of documents using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Dealing with all queries and requests in a courteous manner, filtering contact as agreed and appropriate.

 

What You Will Bring:

  • Minimum 1 years experience working in a financial services environment would be advantageous.
  • The ability to learn, adapt and work on own initiative and also as part of a team.
  • A proven ability to operate at the most senior levels in an organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to continuously acquire new competencies and accept new challenges.
  • Confidence to offer suggestions and improvements to existing processes and champion them through to implementation.
  • The ability to work with highly sensitive material and information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to be flexible in response to changing priorities and needs.
