What you will be doing?

A vacancy now exists for a Level 3 Accountant within the Transformation, Costs & Operation Unit within the AIB Bank Finance Function.  This role incorporates interaction with the CTO and COO communities, providing proactive management of the CTO/COO cost base through budgeting, forecasting, month end reporting, undertaking analysis to identify key trends and issues, together with the provision of financial advice to all areas within the CTO/COO communities.  

Responsibilities also include; understanding and owning actual costs, forecast costs, cost allocations, articulating the cost story both to financial and non-financial stakeholders and providing insights & analysis on cost drivers to the business management.   

This role is being offered on a permanent basis.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Work collaboratively with the CTO and COO communities on their business cost plans
  • Drive, review and challenge the forecasts and plans, carrying out analysis to provide insights on key trends and issues
  • Deliver all monthly reporting requirements for the business areas and ensure the outputs are of a high quality, accurate and in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all planned/forecasted costs and variances to actuals are communicated effectively to the business and highlight necessary steps required on cost variances
  • Ensure all cost allocations to legal entities/segments are in line with current Service Level Agreements
  • Develop effective working relationships with both Finance, CTO and COO customers
  • Develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of the overall CTO/COO business
  • Provide ongoing financial, technical and business expertise to all areas within CTO/COO to support the development of new strategies/operating changes within these areas
  • Support the implementation and evolution of the ZBB framework and cost methodologies for both cost performance and future planning cycles.

You will need to show us that you can/have:

 

  1. Qualified Accountant 1+ years PQE
  2. 3+ years’ experience in Banking/Financial Services
  3. Well-developed communication skills with the ability to interact with, manage and influence internal teams, management, staff and external stakeholders to build productive working relationships
  4. Strong business skills with proven ability to understand, interpret and analyse financial performance, identify key trends, providing insights and analysis
  5. Strong planning, organisation and prioritisation skills with a proven ability to deliver results to tight and competing deadlines
  6. Good understanding of the Bank’s Business to ensure the correct information and messages are communicated to the Business
  7. A self-starter with strong finance technical knowledge and advanced excel skills.
