The Risk group is an independent, second line of defence function that monitors, controls and supports all risk-taking activities across AIB. Our objective is to ensure AIB has a robust risk management structure and culture to take intelligent risk within the risk appetite set by the Board, in support of its customer franchise and social responsibility.


Centrally located within the Credit Risk function, the Portfolio Monitoring team directly supports the Chief Credit Officer, ensuring credit risk management and risk-based credit decision making is robust across the Group. We are a high performing MI analysis and reporting team, undertaking data-driven portfolio analysis to provide a top-down assessment of the credit risk within AIB’s customer Balance Sheet and new lending activity.


Opportunities now exist within the Credit Risk Portfolio Monitoring team for motivated and focused individuals, eager to pursue a career in the Banking Sector, with knowledge of the ROI mortgage lending.  We are seeking individuals who have the drive to work in a specialised Central Credit Risk area and to become successful members of our portfolio analysis and reporting team.


We are looking for someone who can:

  • Source, monitor and report key Portfolio Risk Indicators across the mortgage portfolio through measurable internal and external benchmarks
  • Support risk appetite and strategy through the use of early warning indicators
  • Support the design and ongoing review of automated credit decisioning enhancements
  • Assist in the development and maintain a culture of high performance, strong customer focus and compliance that is reflective of the AIB Behaviours.

You will need to show us you:

  • Have experience of team work or dealing with customers is beneficial.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral.
  • Have an ability to work on own initiative and interact as part of a highly motivated team.
  • Understand the need to provide the highest standards of Customer Service to support AIB in delivering to our Customer’s expectations.
  • Ideally have a Degree (minimum grade of 2.2 or higher) in a numerical or business discipline.


Please note: The Minimum Education requirements for entry to AIB is 5 passes in the Leaving Certificate (or equivalent), to include a pass in English and Maths. These must be achieved at either Ordinary or Honours Level. Confirmation of this will be sought if successful for the role
