About the Role:

Our teams work to provide insightful financial information to inform decision making across AIB, meet our regulatory commitments, manage AIB’s capital, liquidity and cost effectively and protect the assets of our business for the long term. By doing that we work to contribute to an exceptional customer experience.

 

The First Line Assurance team within Finance is a dynamic, experienced and highly motivated team which strives to make a real difference to first line risk culture and drive better outcomes for our customers, staff and business. The team provides operational risk oversight, analysis and assurance on the quality and effectiveness of the risk environment in line with the Finance business strategy.

 

Key accountabilities include:

  • Delivering the 1LOD Assurance Plan approved by Finance SMT
  • Manage delivery of Governance activities on behalf of the CFO at both Half Year & Year End reporting periods
  • Delivering Finance obligations at Operational Risk & First Line Assurance Governance (FLAG) Working Groups
  • Collaborate with Finance teams to build and maintain relationships and assess the adequacy of risk mitigants
  • Execute assurance reviews from end to end (incl. the terms of reference (scope), test plans and final reports) in compliance with the Group First Line Assurance Methodology
  • Communicate potential issues in a timely manner, and support business units in developing action plans to address potential control weaknesses
  • Actively build relationships throughout Finance and AIB, including other assurance functions, to ensure you are keep abreast of best practices and assurance developments throughout AIB.

What you will bring:

 

  • Qualified Accountant with 2-3 yrs experience working within a financial services organisation
  • Risk/Assurance/Audit background with 2-3 yrs experience (preferably First Line)
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, influencing, negotiation, excel, word and powerpoint skills
  • Dynamic, problem solving , optimistic and collaborative approach
  • Strong Team player who demonstrates openness, trust and a willingness to take on new activities and to support other members of the team
  • Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines
  • High levels of initiative and excellent attention to detail
