Summary of role:

The role is positioned within the Capital Markets Fist Line Assurance Team.

The Capital Markets Assurance team is designed to support embedding best in class culture of risk awareness and risk management through the delivery of consistent and risk led assurance activities across the segment. This team is led by the Head of Governance & Assurance – Capital Markets and reports to the Head of Capital Markets Operations, member of the Capital Markets Senior Management Team.

 

The Team perform line assurance activities in line with the Group Assurance Methodology and First Line Assurance Framework by assessing the design and effectiveness of key controls, identifying exceptions and agreeing factual accuracy with the business

 

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Demonstrates an understanding of auditing/assurance principles
  • Communicate identified issues to the business and agree on detailed action plans which results in improvements to Capital Markets’ control environment
  • Support management in identifying assurance requirements, assurance reviews and provide inputs into the annual assurance plan.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the risk & control Assessment processes

You will need to show us that you can/have:

  • 2 or 3 years of relevant experience
  • A relevant qualification, for example Institute of Bankers lending or accounting / risk qualification; CIA qualification; ACCA; QFA; or relevant wholesale, corporate or business banking qualifications.
  • Experience in assurance / audit or a risk management discipline in a Financial Services environment (e.g. 1st LOD Assurance / QA, Operational Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit).
  • Initiative with a strong track record for attention to detail, completing tasks and reporting to a very high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong inter-personal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
