Role: Head of Data Science

Location: Hybrid/Central Park Leopardstown Dublin 18.

This role is being offered on a permanent basis.

Are you a highly motivated individual with experience in leading a team of Data Scientists and Analysts to produce tangible benefits and strong business outcomes?

We’re looking for someone who:

• Will develop and execute the advanced analytics strategy to support the bank’s goals and objectives.
• Will lead a team of Data Scientists in the development of the models and analytics that power the Banks’s propositions and processes.
• Establish thought leadership in AI/ML Ops and identify opportunities to optimise and enhance processes.
• Develop advanced analytics solutions using unstructured and real-time data to enhance customer experience and personalisation for all customer channels.
• Works with our colleagues in business and technology to incorporate model outputs into processes and customer journeys as appropriate.
• Is very familiar with Agile frameworks and methodologies with experience of embedding   rigorous measurement, continuous improvement, iterative delivery and outcome focus
• Collaborates with senior stakeholders to build a backlog of requests and ensure it is actively managed with transparent value-led approach to prioritisation.
• Ensures the model development methodology is aligned to best practice encompassing all appropriate controls
• Ensures compliance with data privacy and regulatory requirements with a strong focus on embedding Data Ethics principles
• Raises the profile of the Data Science team by presenting at internal and external events.
• Creates, in collaboration with colleagues in Technology, an analytics architecture which evolves with advances in tools.

The  Analytics team, a core element of the Data & Analytics pillar, is responsible for the delivery of a range of analytics services  across the group including:

• Strategic Insights
• Measurement
• Advanced Analytics
• Customer Contact

The Analytics team is made up of c90 data scientists, analysts, engineers and visualisation specialists working on rich datasets with state of the art tools and technology.

Working with rich data sets you will use AI/ML to solve complex problems, optimise processes and enhance customer experience. Your team will deliver the models that power customer offerings and engagement. You will collaborate with business colleagues to identify use cases and work with IT colleagues on the provision of best in class tooling.

You will need to show us that you can/have:

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in a numerate discipline such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Management Science, Information Management, Economics.
• Strong experience in machine learning areas such as recommendation systems, NLP, pattern recognition, predictive modelling, Artificial Intelligence, etc. preferably in financial services
• Proven experience in embedding a value driven approach to work load management
• Strong leadership skills, with experience of managing a team of experienced professionals within a technical capacity
• Proven record of success leading enterprise level initiatives.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills including ability to take initiative and prioritise workloads effectively
• Excellent written and oral communications and experience delivering Insight to senior technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A natural inclination to challenge established ways of thinking and an ability to articulate your opinion to influence stakeholders.
