Role:  Origination Associate Director – Energy, Climate Action and Infrastructure


Location: Molesworth Street, Dublin 2 with Hybrid Working


This role is being offered on a permanent basis.



About the Role:

The Energy, Climate Action and Infrastructure team was established 5 years ago and is the fastest growing area of the Bank. This is a unique opportunity for experienced individuals to join this ambitious, high performing  team. The primary goal of the team is to invest in large scale renewables and infrastructure projects which directly contribute to global climate action goals. The candidate will be required to take a lead role in assessing domestic and international opportunities, prepare credit applications, and present to credit committee suitable transactions. This is  a key growth area within AIB and the Irish economy.



Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Enhance relationships with new and existing customers with good communication and customer focus
  • Form an integral part of the risk management culture in AIB and adherence to codes of conduct, laws and regulation
  • Write credit papers for new business for consideration by the relevant Credit Authority
  • Manage and play a key role in developing junior staff members
  • Perform financial modelling analysis and run detailed sensitivity analysis.
  • Communicate the impact and key risks and mitigants associated with same
  • Ensure compliance and administration obligations are satisfied to a high degree
  • Collaborate with other parts of AIB including AIB UK, Treasury and Operations Teams
  • Make a difference through strategic lending to circular economy and sustainable businesses



What you will bring: 

  1. Relevant 3rd level qualification
  2. 5+  years' experience within a similar area
  3. Strong Financial Analysis and Excel modelling skillset
  4. A proven awareness of sustainable lending
  5. Ability to manage and develop people
