Summary of Team:

The Energy, Climate Action and Infrastructure team was set up 3 years ago and is one of the fastest growing areas of the Bank. There is a unique opportunity at Level 4 for an experienced project finance lender with the Energy, Climate Action and Infrastructure Team. The candidate will be required to assist the team manage deal origination and credit quality supporting a key growth area within AIB and the Irish economy. The role will focus on large scale lending to renewables and infrastructure projects which directly contribute to Ireland's and Europe's climate action goals.

 

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Attract and execute new transaction opportunities and enhance relationships with new and existing customers
  • Develop new opportunities both for the business unit and across the wider AIB bank Group, creating a strong platform for AIB as a leader in renewables, sustainability and climate action
  • Originate lending opportunities with Irish and European Infrastructure and Energy Companies
  • Be the lead point of contact for ongoing transactions from deal origination, through the credit process, due diligence and documentation to Financial Close
  • Review and negotiation of key documentation including the Facility Agreement, Security Documents and key Project Documents
  • Networking - project sponsors,  key intermediaries, institutions, private equity, stockbrokers and banks
  • Form an integral part of the risk management culture in AIB and adherence to codes of conduct, laws and regulation
  • Writing Credit Papers and presenting cases of new business for consideration by the relevant Credit Authority as well as for annual reviews and transaction amendments 
  • Proactively manage an existing portfolio of credit exposures within the Credit Policy framework
  • Ensure compliance and administration obligations are satisfied to a high degree
  • Manage, train and mentor junior members of the team
  • Collaboration with other parts of AIB including  AIB UK, Treasury and Operations Teams

You will need to show us that you can/have:

  • 4 years project finance experience
  • Relevant 3rd level qualification
  • Strong Financial Analysis, and Experience of negotiating Transaction Documentation
  • Deep expertise in banking, writing credit applications, credit policy and advanced excel modelling skills
  • Sector expertise an advantage, but not a prerequisite, in infrastructure, renewables and project finance
  • Track record of originating and executing transactions with relationship management a key focus
