The Role

The Financial Crime Analytics team is responsible for supporting all areas of the Financial Crime’s function. This includes analysing AML and fraud patterns, operational and risk management data to develop appropriate and dynamic reports and dashboards. This is to support detection scenarios effectiveness, operational efficiencies, and risk controls KPIs. The candidate will manage a talented and highly motivated team that delivers intelligent, innovative, and insightful MI and dashboards to inform decisions, realise measurable business benefit and meet regulatory deadlines and requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

 

  1. Team management, leadership, and development by supplying technical direction and guidance as required, including reviewing team requests, prioritisation, code/data query reviews and quality assurance (QA).
  2. Establish, develop, and maintain the highest standards of data analysis methodology to ensure that both internal & external team commitments are met within agreed timelines.
  3. Ensure that adequate governance and controls are in place to underpin the integrity of the analysis delivered in our internal customers.
  4. Participate in business projects and change initiatives, proposing workable business solutions to ensure all requirements are included.
  5. Identify improvement opportunities and streamline/automate processes, utilising all relevant technical tools and resources available. 
  6. Assist with ad-hoc Operational and MIS related duties as they arise.

 

In return, the successful candidate will be provided with an opportunity to develop insights into Financial Crime defence strategies and will gain significant opportunities to build on their existing interest in leadership and data/information.

What you will bring:

 

  1. Min. 3 years’ experience working in a data analysis role with people management (preferably within a financial services organisation).
  2. Strong planning, organisational, analytical & problem-solving skills with ability to work to tight deadlines.
  3. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and varied decision-making scenarios.
  4. Experience of building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders.
  5. Knowledge of project management and talent development.
  6. Degree in Business, Mathematics, Finance, Accountancy, Computing, Engineering or another numeric field is an while not a prerequisite, would be desirable.
