The Role

We are seeking a driven & ambitious Senior Technical Analyst to join our Core Banking Programme.

The role presents an exciting and challenging opportunity to an experienced Senior Technical Analyst/Delivery SME who wants to work in a dynamic workplace environment with a real opportunity to positively influence and transform the direction and outcome of our core banking programme through best in class design thinking and practices.  You will be analysing complex issues and understanding business opportunities in order to build solutions aligned to current and future business needs. 

Being ‘agile for the Customer’ is our delivery ethos, and using a mixture of methodologies you will work with internal IT Specialists and AIB’s strategic (product & technology) partners through all phases of our Delivery Framework (Discover, Define, Design, Deliver, Deploy and Operate).

You will work closely with Business and Service Assurance teams ensuring that the transition into our customer's environment is smooth with zero disruption, while engaging across AIB's IT community to drive changes through the delivery lifecycle and ensuring delivery of business outcomes is done in the most effective manner.



We’re looking for someone who:

  • Can engage & influence business & IT stakeholders in the refinement of Core Banking requirements.
  • Has a solid understanding of application, information, infrastructure and integration technologies, and of best practices in design patterns, software development and service management.
  • Can complete the detailed technical analysis of “as-is” and the design of “to-be” changes for the bank’s new strategic Core Banking platform.
  • Will work with the Core Banking systems, wider Eco-System teams and stakeholder groups to ensure change and service migration approaches are adopted to minimize service risk & optimize delivery.
  • Will support the delivery of changes within the overall roadmap of Core Banking programme, engaging commitment from AIB’s development, infrastructure, operations teams and delivery partners, product vendors and implementation teams.
  • Drives continuous improvements to the delivery process via automation and adoption of best practices from industry.
  • Will provide technical support, mentor and develop junior IT Specialist resources.
  • Will work closely with the Service Assurance team throughout the lifecycle of change & will provide detailed handovers as change is delivered into test and production environments, and integration with wider Core eco system.
  • Adhere to AIB standard processes/procedures and policies including change management, audit, security, SOX etc.

Does this sound like something that you want to be part of?

You will need to show us that you can/have:

  • 5+ years’ enterprise technology and change experience.  Specific Core Banking delivery related experience would be a benefit.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences at senior levels within the bank.
  • Broad understanding of Application, Information and Infrastructure technologies & practices.
  • Experienced in working collaboratively with IT partners (nearshore and offshore) and in vendor/product environment.
  • Good leadership and negotiation skills with ability to build productive working relationships with internal teams, management staff and external stakeholders.
