Summary of role:

In COO we are responsible for the execution, strategic development and transformation of AIB’s operations ensuring the exceptional service delivery of our customer journey.  Strategic Sourcing is a specialist support department within AIB’s Chief Operating Office (COO) business area.  Strategic Sourcing has assembles a dynamic, diverse and highly engaged professionals with a group wide mandate to sourcing all goods and services required to support the delivery of products and services required to support our business.  Strategic Sourcing consists of the following four distinct teams: Business Services & Professional Services Sourcing, IT & Telecoms Sourcing, Sourcing Operational Excellence and Procure to Pay.  An opportunity now exists within the Sourcing Operational Excellence team


Key Responsibilities:

  • This role is reporting directly to the Head of Sourcing Operations. 
  • Contributing to the continued improvement and streamlining of sourcing processes.
  • Represent the Strategic Sourcing function at various programme / project working groups.
  • Work with colleagues, other teams and internal and external stakeholders to resolve problems, process pain points, identify potential opportunities and escalate issues accordingly.
  • Collaborate across AIB Group, providing subject matter expertise to support key programmes and business areas across the bank.
  • There will be significant opportunities to learn from other team members and to grow within the role
  • The role requires a forward thinking professional who can establish and manage partnerships, deliver value, managing risk and creating successful outcomes for all parties.
  • Seek ways to improve processes, from small tweaks to complete reengineering.
  • Monitors progress of strategic initiatives to meet project milestones, timelines, specifications and requirements.
  • Persuade others by supporting ideas with logical arguments/data and build support to resolve issues and achieve the most favourable outcome for the company.
  • Evaluate solutions from the business's perspective to develop solutions that best meet its needs.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of internal and external market control environments to determine internal controls to mitigate legal and regulatory risks
