What you will be doing?

In Financial Control our key objective is to support the business, through the delivery of a comprehensive accounting service to all areas of the organisation, which underpins and enables AIB’s strategic goals. This covers the end-to-end accounting process; from core system and financial controls, to the delivery of statutory, management, legal entity and consolidated group accounts, to our external regulatory reporting obligations.

 

A vacancy currently exists for an accountant within the Treasury financial and management reporting team. This role is being offered on a permanent basis.

 

Key accountabilities include:

  • Preparation and review of financial, regulatory and management reports to the highest standard and in line with challenging deadlines
  • Ensure internal & external customer requirements are met to the highest standards and within agreed timelines
  • Responsible for controls and reconciliations over reporting activities, ensuring that operational risk is minimised
  • Focus on adding value and implementation of process improvements to deliver efficiencies within own team and Financial Control
  • Participate in projects and initiatives to optimise and streamline processes
  • Keep up to date on new accounting rules and disclosures and the implications on management, financial and regulatory reporting

You will need to show us that you can/have:

 

  1. Professional Qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA), ideally with 1-3 years’ experience working in a finance or finance reporting role
  2. The ability to analyse and interpret data, to assess its value and communicate findings to the relevant stakeholders in a clear and concise way
  3. Experience in problem solving, dealing in complex issues and making timely, quality decisions
  4. Effective core business capabilities including negotiating and influencing, stakeholder management and presentation skills
  5. Experience of accounting for treasury products preferable
