Summary of role

In Retail SME, our purpose is to be the trusted partner that backs our Customers, enabling and empowering the Businesses in our Community to prosper. The Waterford team is a dynamic team that works together to drive business in the community. A vacancy exists for a Business Advisor on the team. The role holder pro-actively manage and develop a portfolio of customers across a number of industries providing the highest standards of customer service and deliver agreed business performance. In Retail SME, we are committed to hybrid working and the role holder will have flexibility in how they manage their portfolio, interact with the team and drive business in the community.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Management of the business performance of the portfolio under all KPI’s, activities and behaviours and provides weekly business update to Team Lead.
  • Delivers all business objectives including SME & F&L loan targets, CFP targets, and related cross sell / penetration of products suitable for the SME sector, including Homes referrals, CTS & Invoice Discounting. 
  • Develop and apply compelling customer insights, such as knowledge of customer’s product preferences, business strategy or challenges, to generate recommendations for customer-centric solutions.
  • Proactively identifies potential customers and builds a healthy pipeline of leads and opportunities. Converts pipeline, focusing on tailored customer needs.
  • Cultivates and maintains business relationships, partnerships and alliances internally, externally and virtually with key stakeholders to develop and grow customer accounts.
  • Build partnerships and work collaboratively with the Centre of Excellence Team to meet shared objectives.
  • Complete all New Money application activities for transactions above a specified threshold in accordance with credit/risk standards.
  • Understands and analyses factors impacting the risk of providing a particular product for an existing or potential customer in a timeline and accurate manner.  
  • Management of the portfolio from a credit and risk perspective, ensuring that adherence to AIB policies, procedures, SME regulations and codes of best practice are appropriately monitored.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal stakeholders across the bank and critically with colleagues in Local Markets to grow AIB’s SME business.
  • Ensure that there is collaborative and meaningful engagement with your colleagues in the Community Pillar to meet shared objectives.
  • Manage the servicing requirements of customers on portfolio, directing customers to the most appropriate channel to fulfil their needs.

You will need to show us that you can/have:

  • Minimum experience of 2 years in Business Banking, with strong credit competence and broad sectoral understanding and local competitor activity.
  • A self-starter with strong customer relationship management experience to include business development, commercial negotiation & risk/portfolio management. 
  • Proven track record of managing and delivering stretching targets including new business acquisition.    
  • Minimum requirement of APA Loans and APA Savings & Investments. QFA preferable.
  • Understanding and knowledge of all relevant systems including NAPS, nCino, Credit Grading, FDCT, CMS, WDS, Excel, Microsoft Dynamics
