Summary of role:

AIB Group Model Risk Governance & Frameworks is currently seeking an analyst to assist in managing model risk across the Group and to support the implementation of Group’s Model Risk Framework and Policies. The role will involve close interaction with other areas such as Risk Analytics, Model Operators and Risk Data and Independent Validation function


The role entails the secretariat for the Model Methodology Group, Model Risk Committee, Risk Measurement Committee and Policy Governance Framework Forum. Specifically

  • Issue invites and track attendance for the meetings, including where required re-arranging or ad hoc meetings
  • Review papers received against Committee guidelines and revert with queries and any changes required
  • Ensure review meetings and chair briefings are managed and actions completed
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders to collate and circulate each meeting pack
  • Effectively manage the action logs for each committee and forum, where required assist in the governance review of the action closure evidence
  • Assist in conducting the annual effectiveness review for the Model Methodology Committee, Model Risk Committee, Group Risk Measurement Committee
  • Assist in developing the annual planning of calendar meetings and schedule of matters for each committee
  • Assist in the review / updating of each committee Terms of Reference, where required
  • Assist in collation of responses to queries relating to the committees from oversight bodies e.g. GIA, JST
  • Identify areas for streamlining the secretariat duties, where possible
  • Maintain the Committee SharePoint sites
  • Other duties to support the team as required

You will need to show us you have:

  • A proven experience of risk management in a banking environment and knowledge of risk management methodologies
  • Strong ability to document and communicate in written form, including experience in drafting risk policies
  • An understanding of risk modelling practices and processes
  • Experience in review and interpretation of regulation or regulatory guidance, while not essential, would be an advantage
  • 3+ years’ experience in a bank or financial services firm
